Supplying information is one of the best ways to add digital products to your physical ones. Think of the effect you have on someone when you give them a physical product. Once, I gave my daughter, Bridges, a gift and she started crying. People are buying physical products because they can touch them, see them, and feel the emotion on the other person’s face. So leading with a physical product wins, but the next step to increase your margins is to add a digital product to that physical product. 

When you add a digital product to what you’re already offering in your online store, you create a deeper connection with your customers. By doing that, you’re serving them at a higher level. Not only are you selling them something they need, you’re also helping them learn how to use it! Even better, adding a digital product doesn’t have to cost anything! You don’t have to put digital products in inventory. You simply have to share them with others. This means that you’ll be producing more and saving more! Best of all, when those digital products sell, you’ll also be making more!

So, you might be thinking, “All of this sounds nice, but practically speaking, how does it work?

How can I use digital products to increase my margins?”

For example, say you’re selling jewelry or clothing. How can you add a digital product to a pair of earrings? Or a shirt? Could you provide a PDF on all the ways you can wear it? Could you include a digital download on how to clean them so they last longer? Are you selling candles? Why not also add a digital download that teaches your customers how they can use them for aromatherapy? Selling yoga mats? By doing this, not only are you building a better relationship with your customers, you’re also supplying them with helpful information and putting more money in your pocket. It’s what I call the concert experience!
