Have you ever been faced with a question in your business that just made you want to turn around and run in the other direction?⁣ ⁣I’m talking with Gina DeVee about all of those moments big and small where you just stop and question…EVERYTHING.⁣

“What if I don’t make enough sales?”⁣

“What will my family think?”⁣

“Did I pick the right product?”⁣

“Is my website UGLY?”

Sometimes, it feels like the questions are NEVER ENDING.⁣

I know exactly what that feels like, and I am so lucky to support such great women that help me get rid of those icky thoughts. And because I want to share all of the warm fuzzies I get from encouraging and positive conversations, I brought on one of the most inspiring people I know.

Talking to Gina DeVee feels like that endorphin rush you get after a fantastic workout. She is the founder of Divine Living, a multimillion-dollar lifestyle brand and women’s empowerment company. And can I just say, after our conversation, I feel so incredibly uplifted and ready to conquer the day, and I know you will too!

We talked about Gina’s background and how she began creating money from nothing at all by claiming her financial future. We also discussed why your dreams MATTER and the importance of keeping them close in everything you do.

Gina also shares how to go from a scarcity to an abundance mindset and even gives some great selling tips through her explanation of the masculine and feminine ways of selling. You are going to want to grab a notebook for this episode because it is filled with such great gems that you’ll want to reference it again and again.

How Gina DeVee Found Entrepreneurship

Unlike most of us who recognize that we’re embarking on an entrepreneurial journey when we start our business, Gina DeVee kind of just fell into it. She became a psychotherapist because she wanted to help people and quickly realized that her new profession was really a therapist AND business owner.

At 30 years old, with almost 100k in student debt, Gina DeVee was looking for a way out of her circumstances. She was living with her parents, living paycheck to paycheck with MUCH bigger dreams for her life but no clue how she’d get there.

She decided to leave Detroit and move to Los Angeles and make a career switch into being a life coach. It was then that she made the conscious decision to make her dreams her reality and soak in every lesson she was taught. In her words, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

My goodness, I love that quote!

Fast forward to being in a new city with no money and no connections, Gina leaped on the opportunity to go to a free seminar with a friend. She had just $100 to her name but an unparalleled amount of self-belief.

After an exceptionally motivating conference, Gina committed to making enough money to pay for a mentorship program. It was then that her mindset completely shifted.

I just love how Gina’s entrepreneurial story unfolds. Her decision to unapologetically believe in her vision and HERSELF is incredible. And her journey is just such a testament to the amazing things that can happen when we believe in ourselves.

From a Scarcity to Abundance Mindset

It was at that conference that Gina DeVee shifted her beliefs to that of abundance. She began to understand that there was more than enough money in the world AND that she was capable of making it.

I had to pick her brain on this shift because I think it is something that so many entrepreneurs struggle with. So often, we get stuck in a state of scarcity. We’re afraid to move forward because we just don’t see the net that will catch us.

Maybe you’ve struggled with thoughts like this too.

“What if I just can’t sell anymore?”

“What if there’s just no more customers out there who will want my product?”

So how do we stop this barrage of negative thinking so we can accomplish the goals that weigh on our hearts? Gina says it is just a matter of deciding that there’s no other option. It’s about taking the drama out of the equation.

When you’re in fear and you’re worried about not selling something, that means you haven’t decided to do it no matter what.

You must become unavailable for indecision. It’s about shifting the anxious energy and thought patterns into productivity. Of course, there will be difficulties and roadblocks, but we have to make a conscious effort not to allow those moments to throw us off course.

If you’re committed, then you’re committed. No ifs, ands, or buts.

There were so many great takeaways from the incredible Gina DeVee. I definitely recommend listening to this interview if you haven’t yet because her words and inspirational voice are like a salve for the soul!

Top Takeaways

  1. Sales are helping people make great decisions for themselves. Doesn’t that make sales feel a lot softer?
  2. Instead of saying, “What if they don’t buy my stuff?” Switch it! Why wouldn’t they buy your amazing products?
  3. There is no such thing as competition.
  4. Continue to say yes to you.
  5. Ask yourself how you’ll do something instead of IF you can do it.
  6. Become unavailable to indecision.
  7. Put your energy into your decision and go get it done.
  8. Cut off any other possibility. If you’ve made the decision to build a successful, profitable online business, great, then go do it. There’s no other thing you can do. Focus on that, get it out there, get the work done.
  9. Making a decision cuts the drama out.
  10. Stop saying, “I’d love to, but I don’t have the money” and start saying “I will get the money. I can have that.”
  11. You cannot afford to think there’s competition.
  12. There’s more than enough money in the world for you.
  13. Stop saying “one day”. Stop it. Make today the day.
  14.  I love this one: “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” That has happened to me.
