Have you ever thought that what you are doing today can change your kid’s future? You know how passionate I am about teaching our younger generation that there other options besides college to make a living and change the world. I had no clue that showing my girls how to set up their own business would be so empowering for them. My original goal was to get them out of bed before 10 am on Saturday mornings. Well, long story short, business building worked to get them up and going AND they made 6 figures along the way. Not too shabby, right?
Learning about other options besides college.
Just a few weeks ago, Russell Brunson, asked my daughter, Makayla to stand on stage in front of 5,500 people and talk about her journey of building a business. Alongside her were 3 other kid entrepreneurs talking about what they were building too.
Want to know what they all had in common?
They saw what the are building changes, impacts lives, and also makes them money along the way.
The Event That Changed It All For Ayelet
One of the gals up there, Ayelet Shipley admitted that just 7-months ago, she didn’t even consider building a business. She wanted to go to school and get a job and help people one on one.
But boy oh’ boy did that quickly change quickly when her parents took her to a conference and she heard the phrase: “What if I told you this could impact 100 people.”
In a matter of months after learning about how businesses serve people, she immediately got to work and launched a podcast, ebook, and more so that she could reach more people, faster.
In today’s Because I Can Life podcast, I brought you in Ayelet so you can hear what her parents did AND didn’t do to help her see this newfound calling of serving people and building a business around it.
If you have a kid is looking to go down the path of entrepreneurship or wondering if it’s right for them and you just aren’t sure of how to handle or support it, then this episode is for you.
The journey of Ayelet Shipley is fascinating on how she found the path less traveled – aka entrepreneurship.
When She Found Options Besides College
Ayelet wasn’t a natural-born entrepreneur. Heck, she didn’t have any thought of being an entrepreneur until just 7-months ago nor did she realize that her dad had actually been an entrepreneur his whole life.
She was actually in grad school getting her Masters’s degree in Clinical Social Work when her dad reached out and convinced her to go to the Unlock The Secrets live event hosted by Clickfunnels. Before heading out to Denver, where the event was held, she thought that the path of her life was paved and she knew exactly what she was going to be doing.
One of the first people that she encountered at the event was Ryan Lee of CashFlow Tactics and in just a few minutes her eyes were opened to a whole new opportunity in life.
You see, Ayelet had been secretly battling anxiety and depression for the past 10-years. While she was talking with Ryan, he shared that he was really there for his 12-year-old daughter who wants to impact the world by helping people with anxiety and depression.
That’s when a light bulb went off in her head.
She realized she had this amazing message and skill set that could help impact so many people. Her world had just changed. She went from thinking her impact could only be one-to-one to realizing that she could use her message, skills, and knowledge to impact people at scale by using the power of the internet.
The Path To Entrepreneurship
Before she had stepped foot outside of the conference, she knew that her new path in life involved becoming an entrepreneur. In order to have an infinite impact and not just help people one-on-one and make $40,000 per year, she would have to take a different path than what was taught in school.
But when she got home to New York City, reality set in. She was no longer surrounded by the motivated, like-minded people that filled the conference halls. She was around her normal friend group and none of them were doing anything like this.
This didn’t slow her down though, she came home and quickly launched her podcast, Get Out of Bed, Get Out of Your Head.
Then the podcast about helping people with their anxiety became a source of personal anxiety when Ayelet’s podcast coach told her she needed to start doing Facebook Live’s to begin driving traffic to the podcast. According to her, this was a hard no – at least until he came back with one very powerful statement…
What if I told you this could impact 100 people.
That one statement allowed Ayelet to crush her fear and step into this new role because she knew that people needed her message.
This doesn’t just apply to people with a message like Ayelet. There are so many of you with online stores that are selling products that people need. Could your impact on the world through your products be greater if you crushed your own internal fears?
Ask yourself this…
If I did _________, more people would experience my products and their life would be better because of it.
Now, go do that thing!
Tips on Starting a Business for the Younger Generation
Since Ayelet’s family was so supportive of her venturing into the world of entrepreneurship, I asked her what advice she would give to parents who have kids – or to 20 somethings looking for an alternative path.
For Ayelet, she said the biggest things were when her parents…
- Stepped back and let her make decisions (even if they knew it wasn’t the best)
- Was there for her when she needed support and direction
- And had an open-mind when she told them about this new direction she wanted to go in
One of my favorite things, when we were having this conversation though, was around her advice to anyone starting.
“Take massive imperfect action because each thing that you do will teach you something.”
I absolutely loved her response to this! So good!
Just get out there and start! The chances are it won’t be great in the beginning but you’ll learn with each step that you take. And the further along you get in your journey the better it will become.
If you want to hear more about Ayelet Shipley and her journey of helping young people deal with anxiety and depression outside of the normal therapist path, then click play above and dive in!

Loved this episode and how broken down and step by step the details were. Question for you: How do you decide on a business name and shop for an e-commerce store if you don’t have a niche? Or do you only recommend opening a store for those who do? In the beginning, you sold a lot of random things that didn’t relate to each other, so did you use third party selling websites to sell or did you start your own store and how do you do that without a specific product or niche?

- Hopeful:)by Polka. Lover from United States
So far I’m really excited about this podcast....and hoping it doesn’t all lead to what so many other podcasts I’ve listened to have, which is “I’ll tell you just enough to get you excited and start to believe you can do it, but to really start to change your life it’s time to pay for the membership/course and if you can’t afford it that’s just an excuse”. I’ve become a bit of a pessimist in the self-improvement journey while trying so hard to get started but not having much cash to do so. I’m that mom stuck living credit card payment to credit card payment which doesn’t exactly leave money to get started. I’m hoping this podcast is what I’ve been searching for to guide me on how to finally get something going that will bring hope and real change for my future. I love Allison and I have faith that she’s who can help me change my life!♥️

If you're looking to learn about building a successful online business, following your passion, and drive from a real person who practices what she preaches, this is the place! Alison is passionate about others successes- you can hear it in her voice. Against her norm of staying out of the spotlight and working behind the scenes Alison pushed past her fears of putting her face out there to follow her inner drive to teach others how she has been uber successful in several online businesses. She is still active in maintaining several online businesses and has taught me (and thousands more) how to build our own businesses. She is unselfish and wants success for all (and teaches how to do it without going into debt!). She gives so much to help others build their own dreams. Alison is the first mentor that I have found that doesn't hold back in sharing each piece to the complicated puzzle of successful business practices from idea to distribution to customer care. She doesn't promise magical overnight success- but gives you the keys you need and reminds you that your success depends on your dedication and hard work. I can't wait to see what her future episodes bring. Thanks Alison, for overdelivering yet again.

I’ve been following Alison for a while now. I bought into her 0-100K system. My store is up & running thanks to her & a lot of hard work. If you want to have an e-commerce business & have the best support team ever, look no further. I’ve done tons of webinars & online research. Nothing compares to what I have learned from Alison. Her online Facebook group is nothing short of phenomenal. You can post your struggle & ask for help. - Alison Prince WALKS THE WALK Like No Other Person I Knowby Supreme Dragon Slayer 69 from United States
Full Disclosure. I met Alison and her amazing family just a few years ago and in that time I have witnessed an incredibly humble person step into even more of her greatness. This is someone who chases Impact over Significance in everything she does. In a world where most “big marketing gurus” who just yell louder to be heard and rely mostly on manufacturing celebrity to become a house hold name... Alison has been actually walking the walk for decades. She is family focused. She is heart centered. But make no mistake. She is one of the most BRILLIANT Marketers and Business Builders in the world. She had proven herself time and time again on her multiple businesses in multiple niches. All. From. The. Ground. Up. So yes. I know her. Which makes me qualified to write this review bc if you do have an opportunity to ever meet her in real life, feel good knowing she is the same in real life as she is on this podcast. Dave

- So happy Alison finally is releasing a podcast!by Arushi-315 from United States
So ready to listen to all these episodes.
Welcome to today's podcast. I know a lot of you that are listening today are parents, and are wondering about how you can support your kids in either starting a business, or showing them that there's actually another way besides the college route to be successful. So, when I met today's guest, Ayelet Shipley, I knew I had to bring her on so you could hear some of the things her parents did to show her that she had options in this life. She's 23 years old, she's in graduate school, and thought she had a clear path of where she wanted to go until she discovered entrepreneurship. And it was like light bulbs went on, and it was very clear to her that her path needed to go a different way. So instead of serving one person at a time when she graduates from college, she learned that she has something else that can serve millions of people at a time, and make major impact in the world.
That's a pretty big paradigm shift. Right? Now, how I met Ayelet is unique. A few months ago, she and her dad came in on a cruise ship here to Puerto Rico. Now, they're a part of the ClickFunnels community, and they were on board that boat for the yearly retreat. When Jared and I heard that the ClickFunnels cruise was docking here, we rented a big black bus, drove up to the dock, filled it full of 25 plus people, and took them on what we term the Prince family excursion. And, Ayelet and her dad, Tom Hobbes, in the bus. We took them up to the rain forest here in Puerto Rico and basically turned them into mud buckets, as we hiked up above the waterfalls, into the pools to rinse off in the crystal clear rain water. I'll tell you what. Puerto Rico is magical. And while we were hiking, I got to hear her story.
Now, you know that I'm so passionate about this topic of teaching our children that there is another option besides just going to college. So listening to her story about how she went from not wanting, and not even knowing what an entrepreneur really was, to jumping in head first had me asking her all sorts of questions about what those triggers were, and a lot had to do with what her parents did, and did not do for this to happen. And I wanted you to hear this today, because I believe school misses out on so much of what our kids need to learn in this life, and it's our jobs as parents to show, expose them, teach them, and to be an example, yes there are other options besides going to college and racking up the student loan debt. Options that allow them to dive into their passions, make money, serve people, and be successful, and set their own hours.
Right? When I saw it happen to my daughters when they started their in junior high, I knew I had to start teaching others how to do this too. And then when I heard Ayelet's story, it gave me chills. Building businesses around gifts that you have, and then showing your kids that they can be happy in life doing that too, can bring them joy. You can also show them how hard work brings goodness. It changes the future, changes projections, and it changes generations. Building businesses can build confidence that not only allows financial security, but it gives you your time back so you get to set your own schedule, and run your future versus your future running you. Now, I'm not saying your kids have to become entrepreneurs, but I do think it's our jobs as parents to show them that they have options in life.
I also think it's our job to show them that work is a good thing and work can make us happy. This is what I yell at his parents have done for her and now her life is going to be completely different and all of those that she is going to impact. So you'll find out in today's podcast what her parents did to help her see the options, how they supported her, what they did and what they did not do. And then at the end you can find out where or you can follow. I yell at in her journey of impacting millions. So let's dive into today's interview with Ayelet Shipley.
Hey, you are listening to the Because I Can Life Podcast, where we believe we can decide our own income, choose happiness, kick fear in the teeth and never ever stop. Why? Because we can. I'm your host, Alison J. Prince and I went from being a junior high science teacher to building four online, multi-million dollar businesses, with four kids at my feet. Each week, I'm bringing you real conversations that have led me as well as other experts to step into our dream online business lifestyle so that you can get the answers you need to craft your because I can as well take that first step and commit now to your Because I Can life by downloading your free personal bundle at AlisonJPrince.com/Bundle.
Let's just dive in right into it. Why don't you start telling me about your story.
Yeah, so I started my entrepreneurial journey only six months ago. Now, I guess we're hitting that seven at this point. So I went to the unlock the secrets conference by click funnels. Okay. [inaudible] August of this past year in 2019 and I went in with [inaudible], no knowledge of anything like I just went because my dad told me like, you have to come to this conference and it's in Denver. And I was going to school to get my master's in clinical social work. And, so I really went, and I was like, I know what I'm doing with my life. I know my path. Like that's it. But I had gone through all of these things and I really didn't fathom what I could do with my life until I stepped into this live event and to this conference. So one of the first people I meet when going in was Ryan Lee of Cashflow Tactics.
And he was there with his daughter, and he asked me what business I was in and I said, yeah to him. I'm not in business, I'm a social worker. I'm in graduate school to be a therapist. That's my path. That's my journey. It's always been to just help people. It's been my journey. And then I said, what do you do? And he explained what he did and he said, but I'm really here with my daughter Kiana, who's 12, and we would like to help kids with anxiety and depression. And I don't know why I shared this, because yeah, it's kind of something that I hadn't shared with anyone besides my close friends and family for my entire life. And I said, you know, I've, I have actually been struggling with anxiety and depression for the last 10 years of my life. So that's something that's so amazing.
Can help so many people. And he looked down at his daughter, and he said, see, you're not alone. Yeah. And that just kind of from the moment I walked in and got me thinking like, wow, I have this message that I could possibly use to help other people. But I had never thought of that before. So then I stepped into the conference and from there the whole message that I was taught was [inaudible] don't just have to stay on the [inaudible] the path that the education system lays out for you. You can take your message and bring it to the world. And so my life then became from thinking that I just had to help people one on one and could help people going from one to many. And so that just like that alone, I heard the calling at first and then Russell Brunson gave me the framework on how to bring that out to the whole world.
And I realized that that was my path. Like it just clicked in my head like that just became it. And you know, my dad is an entrepreneur and has always been, but I was so blinded by [inaudible] education path all the time. But I didn't even realize he was an entrepreneur, which is funny. I just thought, you know, he owns a business, and he goes to the office every day. It's not an entrepreneur like little did I realize that like he created this from scratch. He did all of this work and like yes, he goes to the office every day because he has a really large team. It has to have an office now, but I didn't even realize in my head that that was entrepreneurship and then I got this whole taste of what entrepreneurship is within these three days, and I was like, Holy cow, like this is it for me.
I was like, aye, don't just have to stay on the framework of what I was taught in social work school where you got a job right after you finished graduate school and you go to a social work agency and get paid $40,000 a year and you impact people one on one. From the time I left the conference I was like, that's it. That's not my journey and where I am an entrepreneur and I'm going to help people to an infinite impact as opposed to just people one on one. Yeah, on my own terms with my message because that's a lot of times people don't talk about when you're studying to be a therapist, they're not like use yourself. So I took that message of using my own things that I've gone through their anxiety and depression through mental health struggles to be able to help other young people going through this.
Okay. Now I heard you tell this story on stage, not at the traffic secrets event, but a few months later at the funnel hacking live event and when you were speaking, you gave me the chills. I love this story because you have taken what a lot of people hide and what a lot of people are afraid of, and you're stepping out and helping other people, and not only are you doing that, you've had to get over a lot of fears, nerves, anxiety, and you learned this all from almost, it was like Ryan Lee's daughter gave you permission to step into this role.
What were some of the things that helped you to get over that? Because your voice is so strong. It's so powerful. I'm sitting here with chills right now of you going from, all right, school's done some things for me. That's great, but I know that's not the end goal for me. I have a bigger vision. I'm here to serve more people than the one on one. So how did you over some of that stuff?
Yeah, so it was really hard for me. Like when you're in this conference, you're so surrounded by likeminded people and all of that. And then so I had all of these big ideas then and then you come back into the real world where I live in New York city, [inaudible] intimidating and no one else is doing this of my friend group. Anyone I know going to from college. And so I got really, really nervous and the first thing I was doing was starting a podcast and you don't just create a podcast, you have to drive traffic to the podcast. So within a few weeks of leaving the conference, I was starting my podcast and my podcast coach was going, alright, I yell it, it's time to go Facebook live.
It's time to start driving people to this. And I, I was on the phone with him and now I said to him, flat out hard, no, I'm not going on Facebook. I'm not going on Facebook live. Like, that's where all my friends and my family are and I don't one then to all know and I don't want them to be judged. And we argued for 20 minutes on the phone and he said, he said one thing to me, he said, what if I told you that this could impact a hundred people's lives? Okay. That's like the moment that it stopped becoming about me and started becoming about the people I can help because yeah, like the biggest fear for me was pressing that record button on [inaudible] Facebook live and then posting and doing all these things. Because before I was just a consumer on social media, like I had massive amounts of anxiety about posting because we live in a society, especially I'm 23 so for people at our age where like we're just, we see the perfect lives on Facebook, we see the happy Instagram happy moments, that happy relationships.
So what would it mean if I started coming out and talking about all of these things that people don't necessarily want to see but kind of need to hear. And I totally had to shift my perspective of it's not about me and my story, but it's about the people I could help from it. And I think that was the main shift of anxiety that I had to get over.
So that, yeah, and what you just said there, I wrote it down cause it was so good is what if I told you this could impact a hundred people? So that helped you squash the, Oh, I'm nervous, I'm scared. It's all about me too. Oh my gosh, I have to step into this role. I don't have any other choice.
Yeah. It just really stopped becoming about me because I've seen even from [inaudible] like telling my story at that conference, like so many people resonated with that. And then the moment I started going Facebook live and sharing my story and talking about the impact that I wanted to make, people immediately resonated with it and started messaging me with their comments. And they're like, thank you so much for talking about these things. And that's where my fears went away because people don't have necessarily the drive to step out into this vulnerability light, especially in this generation. I know that I can be the one to start it so that people are then inspired to do that and it just starts with telling one person. For me, it started with telling one person and that it just grew. So by all of these people now starting to share with this one person who happens to be me now, like they're starting to share too, and it's just kind of like spiraled into more than I ever thought I could, where people are being impacted on a basis that I didn't think that they wouldn't be at first. [inaudible] just started with that shift of it not being about me and I think that's the biggest takeaway that I could've gotten from this business journey as a whole.
It's not about me. Yeah. I love that quote too. I'm writing some of your awesome quotes down. They're so good. They're so good. Let's see. You're talking, we've got some people that are in their mid twenties or some parents that have 20 something year olds. What are some tips that you can give to those people who are thinking about should I start a business? Is this right for me? Maybe their pads are, or their moms are entrepreneurs but they're not quite seeing it. What are some things that help them that you can help them besides turning it around and knowing that you're impacting other people, but what are some tips that you could share about why starting your own business is the path versus just going out there and getting the typical nine to five job?
Yeah, so first I think that like as, yeah, when people, we don't have as much to lose in the long game. So like if you have an idea, whether you think that idea is like the big idea or whatnot, why not just run with it and take action? Is it okay, we're in a world where you know what, we're still in the schooling system or maybe we're trying to leave the schooling system and we have this whole life in front of us. And so for people our age, it can be scary because it's not the natural path. But if you have an idea, I would just say start taking like massive imperfect action because one, it's going to teach you something and I've kind of just open my eyes to the world where like maybe this might not be the thing or like the little things that I do, the little programs that I put out, like it might not work, but it's taught me something.
Each thing that I do has taught me something amazing. I launched an entire ebook without knowing how to drive traffic to it. That was a lesson, but like it taught me so much about what I need to do for the next step and that gave me farther drive to be able to take the next steps. And so then I also say lean on people or find the who around you because that it takes a lot of the burden off of you. Like I think that choosing to surround myself with people who, or not even that but like going to these live events and then creating these relationships with people have just given me further drive cause I see what's possible and it's really scary because our education system teaches us that that's not the path [inaudible] and I had always just assumed that the path that the education system lays out for me is the way that I'm supposed to go.
But I didn't realize the infinite world of possibilities like around me if I did my own thing, like I've no longer confined to this box and I think that anyone who is starting to think about starting a business kind of realizes like I'm not necessarily fitting into this box that society lays out for me and there might be something bigger. It might not be spoken about so much and like your late teens or your twenties but then when you got to a certain age I think you are going to wake up and you're going to realize, what if I had run with this one day? Potential regret. I think as a total driver. What if I just don't do this action right now? And then also on the other hand, like what if I do it? What happens? I don't really see the downside and just running with something and doing it. If you can't and the tools are out there online for you, that's the thing. [inaudible] our online businesses like give us a world of possibilities that we can create anything and get our messages out and get our products out. So if you have an idea, you're early on the path, have you kind of know that the educational system that it laid out for you and maybe the college path isn't right. So I would say run with it.
I love it. So many good things in there. I wrote like I'm frantically writing on my side of all the good things that you're saying. Okay. So tell me about what your dad does a little bit, just briefly, but then what did your mom and dad do? [inaudible] allowed you to step into this. Yes, they took you to the event, but growing up, what were some of the things the, a lot of my audience are moms. What can they do as the leader of the family to help open up the doors for their children to say, Hey, maybe this is their future. What were some of the things that your parents did?
Yeah, so it's actually an interesting dynamic because my mom is not an entrepreneur, but my dad is. So when I came back from the conference, I kind of went into this whole mindset of, Oh, I'm going to, I'm going to quit graduate school and I'm just gonna roll with this. And for me, that's not necessarily the right path because what I'm helping people to do is my schooling is informing me on how to do that. So it does make sense. But my dad waited until that little door open where I was like, maybe this is right for me. And then totally was like, I'm here for you 100% I will help you with anything that you need. And just he said to me, he goes, just do it and we'll figure out the small steps along the way. And just knowing that I have that like net where I can go to him for any question makes me feel so relaxed on an everyday basis because I don't even think in the point of failure.
So my dad is, he's always been an entrepreneur but I figured out eventually, but he has started a skincare brand and he's grown that to multiple skincare brands and he owns Christie Brinkley. So he is, finds the person that he wants to represent or the product he made, like have the scientists, they manufacture it, they package it all, they do all the in house marketing and then they push it out into the world. So like they're doing the entire process [inaudible] as the entrepreneur in their space. And I started to like look into this when after I left and I'm like, wow, this is like something that you can actually have success with. So it not only like just went from an idea but to a successful path and my dad is just constantly there in support and saying to me openly, we will figure out the steps as we go [inaudible] do what you think right now and we'll fix whatever happens. And I think just giving that endless love and support for my journey has really impacted my own abilities and my abuse.
I love that. I love that he's not like sit down, create huge business plan about where you want to be in 10 years. Right. He is an entrepreneur. He knows that sometimes we're only given a half step, not even a full step. All we have to show is that we're moving and he is holding your hand right now and allowing that to happen.
Yeah. He would say a few months after like I would do something. He was like, I knew that necessarily wasn't the right path that I knew. It's telling you what have given you anxiety would have given you some doubt and especially at the beginning you just have to do these [inaudible] and then you learn along the journey and we figure it out together. [inaudible] not dictating my every move and like micromanaging and being like, okay, here's how this funnel is going to be laid out. Here's how this is going to be laid out and then we'll, we're going to do this. He lets me figure out my plan on my own but then guides me in the direction that I want to go.
That's so good. Now how has your mom, she's not the entrepreneur, how does she help support you in this journey? And I have met her and I'll tell you what she is one of you walk into her world and she's just sunshine. She accepts you, she loves you, she hugs you. She's such a nurture. And for me I have felt her spirit just shine so bright. So what are some things that she's done as the non entrepreneur parent to support you in this role?
Yeah. Especially at the beginning there was a little bit of skepticism of only because of me. She's been like, are you sure this is what you want? However she is the most supportive person and like she's also a therapist so that helps too. We have that to connect on. So she's taken what she does in her role as a therapist and help me too figure out how I'm going to push things out. So she takes her job, which I'm pretty much doing just on an entrepreneurial scale and it's influenced me that way. Doesn't judge me at all for what I'm doing and is like, I want you to find a role in like we see these amazing people and now she's kind of stepping into this path too. It's funny like, Oh she really, yeah, so she and my daughter actually gonna they're going to do something together. Oh, I'm excited about where it involves, like her skills and then his skills too, all at the same time. But she has taken such an open mind to me, which I think is the most important thing since I said like I'm serious about this.
Like, this is my journey now. Any way she can help me. And like when I include her in it, she feels so grateful that it's like, okay now I want [inaudible] to share more with her. And at first I was nervous cause I was like, maybe she won't except like the journey I'm on. Cause it's not the path that the social work path has set out for you. But she has like, she's just the most amazing person that wants to see the best in people and wants people to be the best version of themselves and sees that this allows me to become the best version of myself. So she looked at it as how can we help our daughter become that best person? And this is that path for her.
That's awesome. That's so good. So just from what I'm hearing as a supportive parent, the best thing to do is step back [inaudible] child and, and you're not a child, but let the, you are their child, right?
I am, yeah.
Step back and learn your own path. But know that you have somewhere to turn to when you get stuck or when you get frustrated or cause the entrepreneur path, we all know is not the straight line, right? It's this roller coaster. Right? And knowing that you have someone to go back to, don't you think that's like super critical?
It is. And I've, I mean these past six months, I have not been in a straight [inaudible] line and I'm still in graduate school, so I'm working full time for graduate school and I'm doing my schoolwork and I'm also then creating this business in this movement. And so there have been nights that I feel so overwhelmed and I come home crying, and she's just like, yeah, like you've got this [inaudible] I've seen what you can do. And like this is what's good for you. Like you love this like bad days or bad days and you're going to have bad days. But supporting them through that and being [inaudible], especially as the non-entrepreneurial parent, not questioning that journey and just being like, [inaudible] bad days, they suck. You're going to have them. But what can we do to make it better? And to work through it [inaudible] best support system because there have been nights that I've come home to my parents even though I live in a separate department in New York City. Yes. Like go to their house in New Jersey and just be like, I don't know what to do. I'm upset like this didn't go as planned and that's all part of the path. And they just taught me that, that like things don't go as planned, but they're always the support system that I can lean back on, which is an amazing gift.
Totally. Totally. Okay, so now we've heard the backstory. We heard where you're at today. Tell me about the future. Tell me about the program that you're creating in the lives that you're changing. Tell me more about the future, and I know we talked about earlier about sometimes you only know that half step, but where does that half step or even a full step of where you plan on taking this and the lives? Like what is your business?
Yeah. So my business is to help young people between the ages of 18 and 26 pretty much learn the skills to cope with anxiety and depression. So I have an ebook, which is a like a workbook, pretty much that I have released into the world. And now I'm building a course off of that to help people get those steps faster. Because I know [inaudible] every day can be a constant fight if you're dealing with anxiety and depression every single day and you're not, you're not living your most fulfilled life. But then once you get past that, there's still this shame that goes along with it. So even when I learned the tools to deal with it, you don't want to meet, you don't want to like tell someone that you meet on a date, new friendships, coworkers, whatnot, what you're going through, because there's this shame and stigma around it.
So my goal is to empower people to share their vulnerability and to let it be a part of their stories that other people, other people don't react negatively to it. They're like, wow, this is what you've gone through. And that's all amazing. And I've gone through similar things so that they can relate. So the whole purpose of my mission is to learn the skills which I have released the workbook for and then learn to share their vulnerability so that they can step into like a life where they're not full of shame and stigma, and they're all in their head about it. But it's out on the table. And through that I'm launching a new project called the anxiety diaries, which is going to be where people can just start sharing their stories [inaudible] like a private membership group. So it's not to necessarily to the whole world if they're not ready [inaudible] but just start doing this, especially once they've gone through the steps of learning the tools that's completely the next step so that they can step into their lives.
And it's Mike. I mean, I had this like huge vision and huge goal that I will help 1 million people [inaudible] to learn the skills every day, share their stories and their vulnerabilities with the world around them, and then to be able to step into like the life that they're meant to be because the first step starts with learning. Then it starts with sharing, and then they're able to thrive.
That's awesome. That's so needed. I love that you're stepping out into this role. I love that your parents took you to an event that completely changed your whole life. Right? Don't you feel like sometimes stepping out of you want like a business conference? This isn't my world, dad, why are you taking me?
I went cause there were the lazy river in the hotel. That's my way. Or I thought he was in Nicole's honestly too. I thought he was in the coal and then there was a lazy river in the hotel. It was like a free trip to Denver. [inaudible] I open my eyes, and I was there and I think that was like them taking me to that, and then we just being open [inaudible] life when I was there allowed me to change my perspective from [inaudible]. What? I didn't even think there wasn't even like a glimmer of possibility of, I didn't even know what was out there too. Like this is my world and it shifted so much and my journey continues to shift with it. My, my message has changed and my growth has been infinitely changed. But more importantly, me as a person I've changed for the better. Okay. It wouldn't have happened without them. Yeah. Giving me the steps or just like exposing me this.
Yes. Well, you know, I take my daughters to almost every conference. I know boys, but they're, they're super in school right now and it'll be hard for them. But yeah, exposing as parents, if we could take our kids everywhere with us, there's can teach them so much more than that classroom at school. So good job. Give your parents a big hug for me. Okay. I let, tell me where people can find you. How can they find out more about the anxiety, depression, watch your story and learning how to cope with the, everything that ages 18 to 26 do you have others that are a little bit older or a little bit younger? Join your system or,
I do, I have olders and younger. Kids in high school are definitely talking to you about it and see me and like damning me. It's a lot of kids in college. And then also once you get out, because I'm in the world of [inaudible] you're out of college because I'm in graduate school, so I don't counter as much. But um, people are talking to me all the time. People are like my guy friends that are 27 and like people I need 28 they're all talking about it. Cause everyone this age is on finding journey, especially once you leave college.
It's like, "Okay well, now I'm trying to find myself. I'm trying to find that." So, and I'm still struggling with all the things I dealt with, but now it's really showing its space in the world. So yes. I'm totally dealing with it, like people younger and older than that too, but you can find me on Facebook. I put every story, every like, tidbit of information on my Facebook, and then I have a podcast, "Get Out of Bed, Out of Your Head", which is where my journey started, and it continues. So you really hear my journey throughout the podcast. And then, I also interview experts in the field, people... other people who have gone through these things that are our age, and are a little bit older or younger. So that's where I'm sharing my journey. And then, my Instagram is also a huge part of that, @Ayelet_Shipley, but the program I'm running is the AnxietySecretsToolbox.com. So is just www.AnxietySecretsToolbox.com. And that's where I have everything out so far.
Perfect. And then your Instagram and Facebook, it's your name. Will you spell that for everybody?
Yes, it's A-Y-E-L-E-T. And my last name is Shiple. S-H-I-P-L-E-Y. And it's all on my personal page because I'm a big believer that this is personal to me. So yeah, it's business, but like, life is intertwined. All of these things... It's not just business, it's not just personal life, like this is all together.
Awesome. Okay. I appreciate you so much for coming on and sharing kind of the other side of it. The... how you got started, and how you were inspired, and the things that your parents did to allow you to start on this, and I'm excited to watch your journey. I think. I don't think. I know you've got big things coming. I see it. I've seen you speak on stage and crush it, and I've seen what you've done with your community. What a blessing it is. And, everybody go follow Ayelet on her Instagram, on her Facebook, and watch her journey too, because she's going to change the world. A million people.
